Saying God wants all to attain repentance (as taught by the JW's) is just circular reasoning for why the end is not here yet. It never has to come! Sinners are born everyday, and they have to repent too!

when my friends and family try to "reason" with me about my decision to leave, i immediatley begin to question the interpretation of the so-called prophecy in the bible, i am getting the following consistent response:.
"it does not matter if the end comes in my lifetime.
i know i am doing god's will.".

my picture is in the january 1, 2006 watchtower.. why am i telling you this?
consider this my small weekend contribution to the cause of real truth.
any jw who has been one for a while, or a born in, knows the regard that pioneers, elders, bethelites and missionaries have.
LOL @ EntirelyPossible!! Evidently, we have the wrong impression!
just curious here who uses the new tablet computers, whether they be android based or ipad ios from apple.
does anyone here use a phone to post and what is your experience with that?.
i'm curious as to how much more time there will be before these devices are the main computers for people.
Hi maksym. I post from an iPhone quite regularly. And overall I think it meets my needs. It is much easier on a computer, but in my case, I do not always have the privacy needed.
For anyone not able to post from an iPhone/smartphone/iPad/tablet, I keep sharing the following thread because I think it can be of help.

AllTimeJeff - In the OP you said the following:
I have nothing to gain by saying this, it's simply the truth.
Hold on a minute here! You mean to tell me that since you left the JWs, you are not looking to gain followers to start your own religion?!
I thought that's what ALL apostates did! LOL!!!
ATJ, in all seriousness, thanks for your openess and honesty. I love reading your threads.
BUMP!! (For the lurkers)

for those who still show up at the meetings, how do you manage?.
do you still offer comments and how do you actually muster up the boldness to gave talks and still do all of those craps?..
.
In answer to the OP, I do my best to miss as many meetings as I can. My wife has gotten more understanding of my feelings and so she doesn't get on my case.
For the time being, I grin and bare it because I haven't really had any "friends" reject or shun me. I'm still, amazingly enough, invited to their houses or out to some activity. Granted, a lot of them are not in the congregation I attend. So they are not aware that I no longer go out in service or comment, AT ALL. I give the occasional bible reading, but that's it. They don't even know that.
If and when things change in the future, I am not worried. I am currently making friends outside of the org.
Basically, I attend because I like to be with my wife. And the meeting is enough for now, since as I mentioned earlier, I no longer will do field service, and my wife knows that. But I can't say I enjoy attending. We'll see what the future brings. I think my wife expects to see me stop attending.

the study edition of the watchtower says the elders are appointed by jehovah's holy spirit.
it's confounding the society does not realize that more and more elders, do not accept this claim.
i have racked my brain, wondering how many brothers and sisters actually believe this, fall hook and sinker.
djeggnog's regular response below to everybody else's "ignorance". (Except the joke's on him!)
''well there's one thing you got ta ask yourself punk....you felling lucky...well do ya punk".....clint eastwood dirty harry.. "it's life jim but not as we know it" capt kirk star treck..
From The Goonies.....
for those who are still in, are you dropping little hints.
among your friends , this is not the truth.
i realize you must.
I definitely try to plant seeds. I'm not sure how far I've gotten, but I've had some good conversations. Who knows how much people think about those things and are caused to doubt? I hope they give it a lot of thought.

this is a bit of a rebuttal to greybeards ("lack faith in a creator.... watch this") post and the reason why many people lack any faith in a loving creator.
granted, there could be a superior intelligence that could have set certain events in motion but i do not believe there is a loving heavenly father who gives a rats ass about humanity!
its just that in all of recorded history, the human race has suffered (and continue's to suffer) a great deal.
Tater-T - Great point about the snake. Since animals act out of instinct, I HIGHLY doubt every snake says, "S!&T! If only that stupid snake in the garden didn't let himself get controlled by a spirit, I would have feet!" LOL
